William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody stands in the center background behind a group of people gathered for lunch under a tent canopy in a camp for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show at Ambrose Park in Brooklyn, New York. Numerous men and women are seated with the group, including Cody's wife, Louisa, in the left background with Cody's sister, Nellie, seated to her right. Nate Salsbury's wife, Rachel, is seated in the left foreground wearing a white dress. Nate Salsbury, owner and manager of the Wild West Show, stands in the right midground holding a glass to his mouth. Edward E. Kidder, a playwright, stands in the right center background. Kidder's wife, "Polly Pry", is seated in the left background to the left of Louisa Cody. A teepee is set up in the left background and a tall wood fence is in the distance.
