Williams, Sr. and his wife, Mary Rebecca Bryant, while he served as a general in the Civil War and while he was associated with the Comstock mines in Nevada and with Nevada politics, 1864-1868 and 1874; papers (1839-1849) of Sherrod Williams, father of Williams Sr., including indentures and letters (1864-1868) from Sherrod to his son; writings and speeches of Edward Lindley Grey Steele, Beatrice Steele Williams' father; letters and papers (1908-1912) of Emma McPherson, Mrs. Williams; mother, concerning her husband's estate; papers relating to New California Jockey Club and to mining interests of the Steele family; and papers of other relatives.
