Abstract:

An adaption of Herman Wouk's novel of the same name, produced in 7 parts.

America becomes the arsenal of democracy. FDR devises the Lend-Lease Plan and puts Pug in command of 16 American destroyers "unofficially" escorting a shipment to England. His perilous mission completed, Pug joins Roosevelt and Churchill at their historic August 9, 1941, meeting at sea. Meanwhile, Natalie's cousin Berel encounters horrifying evidence of Hitler's "Final Solution". Pregnant and trapped in Italy with her uncle, Natalie fears, like so many other Jews that this "solution" may include her and her family.
