Abstract:

The women featured in this four-volume series speak candidly about their lives, their successes and their roles as women. Each area of expertise is addressed by three women from different cultures and national backgrounds who share their experience in reaching the top of their profession and how to balance career, relationship and family. Section 1: Looks at the joys and difficulties of raising children and different methods of child rearing around the world, from a kibbutz in Israel to the Norland Nannies of Great Britain. Features Carla Lane, Ursula Andress, Claire Rayner, Trice Thomsen, Linda Wo, Valerie Taylor, Mila Mulrooney, Hufnagel Joyce, Lucinda Green, Alouch Joyce, Jane Seymour, Sandra Simpson (Families for Children, International). Section 2: Looks at varying philosophies of beauty from around the world, with profiles of Khadija Adams of Kenya, Pia Torp of Denmark, and Catherine Deneuve of France. Section 3: Profiles three women fashion designers: Coco Chanel, Leah Gottlieb of Israel, and Sonia Rykiel of France.
