Abstract:

Interviewees discuss their respective early interests in physical therapy as well as the education that led them into practice in the field. They also share tales of some of their most memorable patients as well as some of the most difficult cases they faced. Subjects discuss their levels and avenues of involvement in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) As pioneers in physical therapy, these interviewees discuss their experiences developing the discipline as well as the direction in which they believe the field is heading. Additionally, interviewees share details about their childhoods, family lives, and marriages. Interviewees reflect on the gender disparity in physical therapy and the influence women have had on the direction and focus of the profession.
