A collection of over 47,000 stories and 15,000 images relating to every aspect of life during World War Two. The stories were gathered on the BBC's WW2 People's War website between November 2003 and January 2006, and were contributed by those who lived and fought during the war and their families. The 189 archive categories cover themes such as Bombing and the Blitz, national and global locations, the Armed Forces, Volunteer Organisations, Internment and Occupation, and key events such as D-Day, the Battle of Britain and El Alamein.
