The Bishop's gambit: When a British nurse is given ten years and 40 lashes for a trivial crime in a foreign country, the PM has to decide whether it's safer to be heartless or mindless. One of us: The headlines are giving the Prime Minister a major headache when it's uncovered that the late head of British intelligence was passing secrets to Moscow. Man overboard: A little lying is in order when that master of deception, Sir Humphrey Appleby, tries to thwart the Prime Minister's unpopular plan to transfer a contingent of British servicemen.
