Berührender Abschied: Seit dem Tag an dem Albert Garrett verstorben ist, beginnt sein Sohn Finn langsam unsichtbar zu werden. Jeden Tag werden seine Haare weisser und sein Gesicht blasser. Die Ärzte haben keine Erklärung für das seltsame Phänomen und so beginnt Finn, sich selber dazu Gedanken zu machen. Eine seiner Theorien ist, dass er ein Geist wird, damit er wieder bei seinem Vater sein kann. Um seine Trauer zu verarbeiten, schreibt Finn seine Geschichte auf. Er beschreibt, wie er sich um seinen kleinen Bruder kümmern muss und wie er den Kummer seiner Mutter empfindet. Er erinnert sich an Erlebnisse mit seinem Vater und berichtet von kleinen Details aus seinem Leben. Das Buch handelt davon, wie es ist, nach dem Verlust eines geliebten Menschen zurückzubleiben. Natürlich ist das ein trauriges Erlebnis, dennoch ist 'Der letzte unsichtbare Junge' kein trübsinniges Buch. Finn schreibt einfallsreich und tiefsinnig, witzig und nachdenklich.
