The fledglings by Howard E Adkins( file )
5 editions published in 2009 in English and held by 26 libraries worldwide
The Fledglings examines the maturation of three young men in the crucible of the terrifying and bloody World War 1. Of course, their loss of innocence is not unique to war alone, but such an arena accelerates the process and is a much harsher compass. The time period is one of revolutionary change throughout the world, but nowhere is the transformation in the early Twentieth Century more pronounced than in warfare ₆ killing has become a highly refined process and now even moved into the air. In the telling of the story, there is a great deal of aerial combat, many details of the techniques employed and specifies about the planes of that era

Sean Hannity is in a Baghdad jail where he plots a scheme to hijack an oil tanker and threaten to dump it into the coastline unless his demands are met. He figured Saddam Hussein would jump at the chance to lift the embargo with a spot of hijacking. By representing himself as an I.R.A. man, he could set up the job, make a mint and walk away leaving Iraq holding the bag. Iraq releases him to carry out the plan but the I.R.A. has gotten wind of the scheme and is demanding a cut (holding Hannity's gilfriend for insurance), and the Iraqui lieutenant assigned to him has orders to kill everyone involved, and his plans are falling apart
