The love goddesses details cinema's female sex symbols, featuring clips from famous film stars such as Marlene Dietrich, Lillian Gish, Clara Bow, Greta Garbo, Jean Harlow, Bette Davis, Carol Lombard, Ginger Rogers, Myrna Loy, Mae West, Barbara Stanwyck, Shirley Temple, Lana Turner, Betty Grable, Dorothy Lamour, Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Claudette Colbert and others. The film examines the shifting cultural mores that are constantly redefining what we consider alluring as well as what we are allowed to see. His energetic, optimistic character, his ingratiating smile, his graceful, acrobatic stunts (he did his own), clever writing, and accomplished staging rapidly made Fairbanks one of the most admired stars in the world. He produced 4 films for United Artists, including The Mollycoddle (1920), directed by Victor Fleming and starring Fairbanks, Ruth Renick, and Wallace Beery. After living in Europe for many years, Fairbanks returns to his home in Arizona in this adventure story. He battles and captures Wallace Beery, a desperado, while also pursuing and winning Ruth Renick
