Es enthält einige grausame Passagen, umso mehr dürften Kinder darin mitfiebern und am Ende erleichtert aufatmen. Germano Ovani hat kunstvolle Bilder dazu gemalt, welche die Dramatik der Geschehnisse beeindruckend darstellen. Jedoch auch etwas Unergründliches und ab und zu auch etwas Unheimliches ausstrahlen.
