Most of the photographs, loose and in volumes, are portraits of Gould and her friends and family, including her parents, Benjamin Apthorp Gould (1824-1896) and Mary Apthorp Quincy Gould, and other members of the related Gould, Howe, and Quincy families, as well as classmates from Bryn Mawr College, among others.
