One of the most prominent Muslim scholars and scientists of the medieval era, the Persian polymath Nasir al-Din Tusi (1201-1274) joined the Shi'a Nizari Ismaili community at a young age, as the armies of Genghis Khan poured across his homeland. In the course of a long and eminent career, first under the patronage of the Ismailis at the fortress of Alamut, and later with the conquering Mongols, he produced over 150 works on diverse subjects from theology and philosophy to mathematics and astronomy. His principal works on Ismaili doctrine, the Rawda-yi taslim (The Paradise of Submission) and the

Paradise of submission : a medieval treatise on Ismaili thought by Naṣīr al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad Ṭūsī( Book )
4 editions published in 2005 in English and Multiple languages and held by 133 libraries worldwide
"Paradise of Submission (Rawda-yi taslim), is Tusi's most important and comprehensive Ismaili work. It consists of 27 chapters called tasawwurat (meaning 'reflections' or 'representations') on a variety of themes such as the Creator and the cosmos, the nature of human existence, ethics and human relations, religion, eschatology, prophethood and imamate. Additionally, there are chapters on the varieties of human knowledge, the nature of language, different forms of worship, and the soul's progression from corporeality to spirituality." "The significance of this treatise arises not only from its comprehensive treatment of medieval Ismaili thought, with its characteristic synthesis of theology, philosophy and esotericism, but also from its unique status as the only major doctrinal work of the early Nizari Ismailis to have survived the Mongol invasions of Iran in the 7th/13th century." "This new Persian edition and complete English translation of the Rawda-yi taslim has been prepared by S.J. Badakhchani on the basis of several known as well as recently discovered manuscripts of the text, and accompanied with an introductory essay by Hermann Landolt and a philosophical commentary by Christian Jambet."--Jacket

5 editions published in 2014 in English and held by 55 libraries worldwide
Arabic erotic literature has a long and rich history, which goes back as far as the ninth century. Far from being the pursuit of prurient pornographers, eroticism and sexuality received considerable attention from established scholars. Written by Nasir al-Din al-Tusi (1201-1274), one of the leading scientists of the age, The Sultan's Sex Potions is part of a group of works devoted to aphrodisiacs as well as sexual stimulants, practices and positions. Sober and measured in tone, the work was intended to be a manual that would allow the patient to dispense with the services of a physician. Its potions, electuaries, syrups and enemas enjoyed a 'royal warrant of appointment' to arouse the lust for coitus and enhance sexual potency. This volume includes a critical edition of three manuscripts, both in English and Arabic, as well as an introduction to Arabic erotic literature, a biography of the author, a blibliography of Arabic erotic works and extensive indexes

Contemplation and action : the spiritual autobiography of a Muslim scholar by Naṣīr al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad Ṭūsī( Book )
10 editions published between 1998 and 1999 in English and held by 29 libraries worldwide
Nasir al-Din al-Tusi, the 13th-century Shi'i philosopher and scholar, is one of the most controversial Muslim personalities of his time. His contributions to different fields of learning, including astronomy, theology and philosophy, won for him the honorific titles of scholar ("Muhaqiq") and the "Eleventh Intellect". In Isma'ili circles he was held in the highest esteem and addressed as "Da'i al-du'at wa khwaja-i ka'inat", chief propagandist and master of creation. This is al-Tusi's spiritual autobiography. Although it is not traditionally listed in his writings, contemporary scholars have no doubts about its authenticity. In it, al-Tusi recounts his spiritual attraction and conversion to Isma'ilism. The work of and inquisitive and highly intelligent mind, the importance of this document lies not only in al-Tusi's account of his spiritual journey but also in his clear and vivid elaboration of the Shi'i Isma'ili doctrine of "ta'lim", or the need for authoritative teaching by the Isma'ili imam
