Eduard Mörike wurde am 8.9.1804 in Ludwigsburg geboren. Dort besuchte er die Lateinschule und ab 1818 das Seminar in Urach. 1826 begann er Tätigkeit als Vikar in Nürtingen, 1827/1828 arbeitete er als Redakteur bei einer Zeitschrift. Von 1834-1843 war er Pfarrer im Ort Cleversulzbach. Mörike wurde vorzeitig pensioniert, er war dann unter anderem Literaturlehrer in Stuttgart, 1855 Hofrat und er erhielt 1856 eine Professur. Ab 1871 lebte er wieder in Stuttgart. Mörike starb am 4.6.1875 in Stuttgart
