Mike hat kaum eine andere Wahl: Er stammt aus einer zerrütteten Familie, ist auf der ständigen Suche nach seiner Mutter und findet einen Ersatzvater im Drogendealer (!) und Zuhälter Bob. Ab und an erleidet Mike einen Anfall von Narkolepsie, einer Schlafkrankheit, die alle Muskeln jäh erschlaffen läßt. für Scott dagegen ist das Vagabundieren nur eine effektvolle Möglichkeit, dem Schatten seines Vater zu entfliehen, des mächtigen Bürgermeisters.
