Gilbert Tapley (1634-1714) was living at Beverly, Massachusetts, in 1676 and a Salem, Massachusetts, in 1677. He and his wife, Thomasine (1632-1714), had three children, 1665-1671. His son, Gilbert Tapley, Jr. (1665-1710), married Lydia Small, daughter of Thomas and Ruth Small of Salem. They had four children, 1689-1699. Descendants listed, chiefly male lines only in the earlier generations, lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and elsewhere
