Computation and complexity in economic behavior and organization by Kenneth R Mount( file )
14 editions published between 2002 and 2007 in English and held by 1,328 libraries worldwide
This book presents a model of computing and a measure of computational complexity which are intended to facilitate analysis of computations performed by people, machines, or a mixed system of people and machines. The model is designed to apply directly to models of economic theory without requiring analysis of approximations
Designing economic mechanisms by Leonid Hurwicz( file )
25 editions published between 2006 and 2008 in English and held by 664 libraries worldwide
"This book presents systematic procedures for designing mechanisms that achieve specified performance and economize on the resources required to operate the mechanism, i.e., informationally efficient mechanisms. Our systematic design procedures can be viewed as algorithms for designing informationally efficient mechanisms. Most of the book deals with these procedures of design. Beyond this, given a mechanism that implements a goal function in Nash equilibrium, our algorithm constructs a decentralized, informationally efficient mechanism that implements that goal function in correlated equilibrium."--Jacket

This volume, honoring Professor Stanley Reiter, reviews his many contributions and of his students in the varied areas of mathematical studies in economics and management science. Topics include economic history, mechanism design, game theory, dynamics and stability, and the structure of the firm. The contributors, all of whom wrote expressly for this book, are : J.S. Jordan; K.R. Mount; D. Morano and M. Walker; S.R. Williams and R. Radner; J. Hughes; H. Sonnenschein; E. Ames; L.E. Davis and R.E. Gallman; D.G. Saari; T. van Zandt; E. Bennett; T. Marschak and S. Activity analysis of technological structures in production : an example by Stanley Reiter( Book )
2 editions published in 1952 in English and held by 6 libraries worldwide
The activity analysis model seems particularly adapted to the study of technological structures in production, because particular pieces of technology (activities) are explicitly identified in the model, and specific decision variables (activity levels) are associated with them. While the existing formulation of the model does not permit distinctions between different groupings of the same set of activities, a minor modification which makes the model a sector-wise additive one rather than a completely additive one; yields the desired result. The paper is limited to the formulation of the sector-wise additive model, and the presentation of a simple example illustrating its application
