Tânsen et la tradition des chants dhrupad en langue braj, du 16e siècle à nos jours [microform] by Françoise Delvoye Nalini( Book )
3 editions published between 1991 and 1992 in French and held by 3 libraries worldwide
THE COURTLY LYRICAL POETRY COMPOSED IN BRAJ TESTIFIES PERFECTLY TO THE POETIC GENIUS OF MEDIEVAL INDIA. THE STRIKING MUSICALITY OF THIS LANGUAGE MADE IT THE PRIVILEGED IDIOM OF VOCAL ART-MUSIC IN NORTH INDIA SINCE THE 16TH CENTURY. THE FIRST PART OF THE DISSERTATION INTRODUCES DHRUPAD - THE MOST TRADITIONAL VOCAL GENRE STILL PERFORMED TODAY - IN ITS HISTORICAL AND LITERARY ASPECTS, FROM SANSKRIT, PERSIAN AND VERNACULAR DOCUMENTS. THE EDITING OF DEVOTIONAL ANTHOLOGIES AND COURT-MUSICIANS REPERTOIRES AND THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE POET-COMPOSERS RAISE INTERESTING PROBLEMS. THE FLORESCENCE OF DHRUPAD AS COURT MUSIC SUGGESTS THE INPORT- ANCE OF PATRONAGE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A LYRICAL GENRE COMPOSED IN A VERNACULAR LANGUAGE. ITS STUDY IS ILLUSTRATED BY A BIOGRAPHICAL AND POETICAL SURVEY OF MAYAK BAKHSU, A FAMOUS MUSICIAN OF THE 16TH CENTURY. IT IS FOLLOWED BY AN EXPOSITION OF DHRUPAD, OFTEN MISTAKEN FOR THE PURE DEVOTIONAL VISNUPAD. THE SECOND PART DEALS WITH TANSEN, FIRST SINGER AND POET-COMPOSER AT THE COURT OF THE MUGHAL EMPEROR ABKAR (1556-1605), BOTH AS AN HISTORICAL FIGURE AND A LEGENDARY CHARACTER, AND WITH THE MUSICOLOGICAL AND LYRICAL WORK ATTRIBUTED TO HIM. THE ORI- GINAL TEXT AND THE FRENCH TRANSLATION OF THIRTY-SIX DHRUPADS BEARING THE "SIGNATURE" OF TANSEN, REPRESENTATIVE OF THE WORK ASCRIBET TO HIM, ARE PRESENTED, BASED ON NUMEROUS WRITTEN VERSIONS AND THE ORAL TRADITION

De la convention à la conviction : Banārasīdās dans l'histoire de la pensée digambara sur l'absolu by Jérôme Petit( file )
1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 1 library worldwide
The works of Banārasīdās (1586-1643), a Jain merchant and poet active in the region of Agra, is largely based on the thought of the Digambara philosopher Kundakunda (c. third century). The latter invited to search for the true nature of the self seen as the only reality from an absolute point of view (niścaya-naya). The layman condition of Banārasīdās obliged him to consider also his own religion from a conventional point of view (vyavahāra-naya). He was helped by his discovery of the spiritual scales prepared by the Jain doctrine and described in detail by Nemicandra (tenth century). It is rewarding to look at the articulation between the two points of view in a historical perspective, from the Samayasāra, the major work of Kundakunda, up to Śrīmad Rājacandra, a holy layman of the late nineteenth century, with a particular focus on the members of the Adhyātma movement whose Banārasīdās was one of the most successful instigators

Initiation à la bioéthique by Françoise Delvoye Nalini( Book )
1 edition published in 2011 in French and held by 1 library worldwide
