Um den Trubel um seine Person und den Gläubigern zu entkommen sticht Carl Denham mit Captain Englehorn in See. Auf der Insel Dakang trifft er den heruntergekommenen Helstrom, der ihm einst die Karte zu Kongs Insel gab. Um mitgenommen zu werden, erzählt er Danham von einem Schatz, der von Kong bewacht wurde. Mit an Bord schmuggelte sich die junge Hilda Peterson. Helstrom wiegelt die Schiffscrew zu einer Meuterei auf, Denham, Englehorn Hilda und ein chinesischer Koch werden vor Kongs Insel auf einem kleinen Beiboot ausgesetzt. Als Helstrom danach das Kommando an Bord übernehmen wollte, wurde er direkt hinterher geworfen. Auf der Insel entdecken sie, das Kong noch einen Nachfahren hatte. Dieser hatte sich in Treibsand festgesetzt, doch Denham rettet ihn. Kurze Zeit später wurden sie von Dinosauriern und anderen Monstern angegriffen, wo der kleine Kong sich revanchierte und sie ebenfalls rettete. Bei einem Erdbeben geht die Insel unter und Kongs Sohn opfert sein Leben, um Denham zu retten. (www.tierhorror.de)
