IOA studios Hadid, Lynn, Prix : selected student works 2009 by Wolf D Prix( file )
2 editions published in 2011 in English and held by 288 libraries worldwide
The renowned Institute of Architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna presents selected student works from 2009. The design studios of star architects Zaha Hadid, Greg Lynn and Wolf D. Prix offer students countless possibilities to exhaust architectural parameters across borders. The open studio structure, which enables students to work on the same topics from their first term up to their graduation, creates dynamics, which would not be possible at this scale in a conventional study structure. In addition to these three design studios the Institute of Architecture offers the Cross Over Studio, in 2009 headed by François Roche, which gives a small group of students access to external aspiring architects for one term further enhancing the already exceptional spectrum of projects. The departments of Structural Design and Energy Design, with their advanced technologies, support the architectural education at the Angewandte. The present pictures should serve as an inspiration and let us hope for a new dynamic generation of architects

Other space odysseys : Greg Lynn, Michael Maltzan, Alessandro Poli by Greg Lynn( Book )
6 editions published in 2010 in English and held by 121 libraries worldwide
The book presents, through different odysseys, three responses to the idea of an adventurous journey in space and a future based on technology. After the 1969 lunar mission, architect Alessandro Poli with Superstudio considered it critical to imagine our environment as connected to the new reality of outer space. Their extensive research led to architettura interplanetaria, a highway to connect the earth and moon as well as architettura materiale, which focuses on the return to earth. Architect Michael Maltzan is designing the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Administration Building for NASA that challenges existing models for housing scientific research, and proposes a new type of physical environment to facilitate a collaborative research process. Architect Greg Lynn has developed several investigations that imagine new worlds outside our atmosphere and initiated research and design for new terminals on both the earth and the moon, which will connect travelers between these two places
