Bettina Abarbanell hat die Geschichte in einem würdigen Erzählton übersetzt. Die aus alten Mythen und Sagen entliehene Figur des Monsters ist eine überzeugende Metapher für das Unfassbare des Todes, für Endlichkeit, für die alte Frage nach dem Guten und nach dem Bösen.
