3 editions published in 2002 in English and held by 7 libraries worldwide
"While most candidate countries have aligned their competition legislation with that of the EU, competition compliance is still far from EU standards. Based on a survey of subcontractor agreements in the car component industry, we conclude that not everyone in the business community (and not all regulators!) are familiar with enforcement. We suggest targets for post-enlargement competition policy efforts."--Editor

3 editions published in 2002 in English and held by 7 libraries worldwide
"The definition of a dominant position given by the European Court of Justice is economically meaningful. In addition, it can be measured directly using econometric techniques. Estimates of three elasticities are enough to provide two simple statistics measuring market dominance: rival's price and quantity elasticities and the firm's own price elasticity. We apply this test to the Danish cement industry."--Editor

Efficient competition with small numbers : with applications to privatisation and mergers by Kala Krishna( Book )
3 editions published in 1999 in English and held by 7 libraries worldwide
This paper studies competition between a small number of suppliers and a single buyer (or an auction with a small number of bidders and a single seller), when total demand (supply) is uncertain. It is well known that when a small number of suppliers compete in supply functions the service is not provided efficiently. We show that production efficiency is obtained if suppliers compete in simple two-part bid functions. However, profits are not eliminated. Moreover, the buyers' (sellers') decision regarding how much to buy is not efficient. We also show that suppliers (bidders in an auction) always have an incentive to merge (form bidding rings) in this setting
The competition law & economics of electricity market regulation by Peter Møllgaard( Computer File )
2 editions published in 2003 in English and held by 6 libraries worldwide
"Price correlations are used to delineate the geographic market in recent Danish electricity cases. They indicate that power generators hold temporally transitory and irregularly intermittent dominant positions. Calculation of the Lerner index reveals abuse. The Danish Competition Authority decided to settle this case by agreement for reasons explained. [The authors] indicate how economics may be used pro-actively to improve market design."--Editor
