Quatre jeunes défuntes, respectivement prénommées Mary, Anne, Shirley et Daphné, sont condamnées à errer dans un orphelinat désaffecté qui se dresse au coeur d'une forêt noire. Toutes les nuits, elles se retrouvent pour se raconter des récits horrifiants. Ici, c'est Anne qui prend la parole pour raconter l'histoire de Mandy, une adolescente qui a l'impression que son univers s'écroule lorsque l'une de ses compagnes de classe est kidnappée chez elle et que son cadavre, violemment charcuté, est retrouvé quelques heures plus tard. Mandy est d'autant plus troublée que le meurtre coïncide avec le moment où elle commence à recevoir des SMS anonymes et qu'un garçon mystérieux la contacte sur un forum de clavardage. Ce dernier lui a en effet envoyé une photo qui, sous ses yeux ahuris, se métamorphose au fil des jours. Le jeune garçon blond qui y figure est en effet peu à peu remplacé par un vieillard aux allures de sorcier. Mandy soupçonne d'abord son ex-petit ami, avec lequel elle vient tout juste de rompre, de se cacher derrière tout cela, mais la réalité est encore plus terrible
