"The collection and transcription of this anthology of Kanuri stories was carried out in 1975 by researchers at the Borno State Branch of Bayero University College's Centre for the Study of Nigerian Languages. The stories were first produced in a duplicated version bearing the same title which appeared in early 1976. The first twelve stories in this book are quite old and very well known in Kanuri oral tradition. The particular versions of them which occur in 'Hawarwa Kanuribe' were originally collected by Sigismund Wilhelm Koelle and appeared in his book 'African Native Literature' which was first published in 1854. The Kanuri story-teller from whom he obtained them was Ali Aissami....The last seven stories were collected in the Maiduguri area by the story-tellers who are indicated with each story."--p. v

This collection consists of 22 handwritten depositions of captains involved in North Atlantic commercial fishing, written out by a clerk and notarized. There are also 36 other depositions of fishing firms which are printed questionnaires filled out in manuscript. Captains are from the United States East coast (Maine to Cape Cod) and fish on Georges, St. Lawrence Bay, and other locations for herring, mackerel, cod, etc. This was probably gathered as testimony for the Halifax Commission, but covers much more than Canadian-American relations. There is also a folder of miscellaneous financial documents (1873-1879)

The report presents the findings of a statewide study of secondary and postsecondary schools in Pennsylvania. The overall objective was to determine the extent to which these institutions were cooperating and sharing programs, faculty, and facilities in the offering of vocational programs. Seven vocational institutional types were surveyed: area vocational technical schools, comprehensive high schools, public community colleges, private junior colleges, nondegree granting proprietary schools, associate degree granting proprietary schools, and senior colleges and universities. Several hundred individual institutions were contracted by mail and/or telephone. Findings indicated that while some cooperative vocational program activities are going on, the potential for such activities is barely tapped. Recommendations for future cooperative programs are offered. Appendixes offer the cover letter, a flow diagram of the study, a questionnaire form, and a listing of the participating institutions.
