Night trippers by Mark Ricketts( Book )
2 editions published in 2006 in English and held by 110 libraries worldwide
"In the sixties, a new wave of British movers and shakers dictated the direction of art, music, cinema, satire and fashion for the rest of the world. Swinging London was alive with color, sound, celebrity, witchcraft, scandal and youthful exuberance. In time, this juvenescent movement would lead the way for sexual, social, and politcal revolution. But if the vampires pulling strings behind-the-scenes of the entertainment industry had gotten their way, our memories of that period would be quite different. When Darien Pendragon, an ancient, megalomaniacal, yet trendy vampire, transformed a young "human" ingenue named Dot into a pop icon, his dreams of world domination were set in motion. However, he never counted on interference from an aging Teddy Boy and a pair of dotty pensioners. Parodying many of the luminaries who defined the sixties, Night Trippers is a distorted, humorous and often blood-soaked refection on a time when all we needed was love ... and a sharp, pointy stick." -- Page [4] of cover

Here comes the Silver Tsunami! With the 90 + age the fastest growing age group in the country, housing and services for seniors are increasingly important. The next CMC forum will focus on housing related issues for this aging population with executives from National Church Residences Thomas Slemmer, CEO and Mark Ricketts, president (operations) and CEO-elect. According to Senior Housing News, 10,000 people are turning 65 every day driving up the demand for senior housing options faster than supply can maintain. Likewise, the demand for senior care services (not only skilled nursing care) has pushed the growth for that business enterprise. Like any housing market, prices and services run the gamut of options from subsidized rent to high priced options. There is an affluent segment of the senior market for those who have the means and desire to pay for it. Offering chef-prepared gourmet meals, finer furnishings and décor, theaters and restaurants make the newest senior facilities seem more like a luxury hotel than a nursing home. For most seniors and their families, finding affordable housing is imperative. The Columbus-based not-for-profit National Church Residencies (NCR) is an innovative leader for senior and supportive services with 330 communities in 28 states and Puerto Rico. Thomas Slemmer has served as president and CEO of National Church Residences since 1988 so he has witnessed the changing trends for senior services for housing and healthcare. "National Church Residences is committed to finding innovative ways to help seniors live and thrive. Many of our efforts to create new programs and services take place in our home base, central Ohio. We believe that housing is a great platform for the delivery of health care" said Slemmer. When Mark Ricketts becomes CEO at the beginning of the year, he will continue to promote affordable housing and seek ways to improve the quality of life for residents including seniors, formerly homeless veterans and the disabled

Dead world ( file )
1 edition published in 2008 in English and held by 0 libraries worldwide
A collection of short stories from the pages of Deadworld, one of the longest running zombie titles in the comics market. It is a world that has suffered a supernatural holocaust and the dead rise to walk again. Yet this world also has intelligent zombies, such as the Harley-riding, chain smoking King Zombie and they threaten to drive humankind into extinction. Included in this collection is the very first Deadworld story, "Black Sabbath". The classic tales illustrated by the artist known as "the Deadworld artist", Vince Locke, are presented as is the introduction to one of Deadworld's most popular characters, the Dead-Killer. In Deadworld, death is only the beginning of the horror and this action packed assemblage of tales set in this zombie infested world illustrates perfectly the dilemma the humans face, not only from the hordes of zombies but from other humans themselves. See why Tom Sniegoski, writer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, calls Deadworld, "the best, in my humble opinion, of the zombie comics."
