For a sheltered mama's boy like Demarcus, everything was coming up roses until a life-changing experience showed him that every rose has thorns. After a well-orchestrated set-up, Demarcus' plans to go to college are derailed by a trip to state prison. It is while in the belly of the beast that the mama's boy has to make the choice between being a man--or being a victim. Upon his release, Demarcus tries to get his life back on track, but his felony conviction causes door after door to be slammed in his face. Going to college is no longer an option, and flipping burgers is not in his plans. With little other choice, Demarcus applies the lessons learned in prison and takes to the streets, where he gets caught up in selling heroin, known on the streets as Dog Food. When all hell breaks loose between the major dealers in Memphis over the city's heroin distribution, Demarcus finds himself on the losing side of a bloody drug war. As he prepares for the showdown with his opposition, he begins to uncover truths about his past, including what happened that fateful night of his arrest. To add insult to injury, when he finally stands face-to-face with his enemy, he discovers that the face is a familiar one. They say that blood is thicker than water, but when it comes to cash, sometimes even those closest to you will try to do you in

Disrespectfully yours by Raynesha Pittman( Book )
1 edition published in 2015 in English and held by 6 libraries worldwide
"Do you remember your first love? Meagan will never forget hers because he held an important role in her life that should have prevented them from coming together as one. There were so many reasons for her and William not to be together, such as their 21 years age difference just to name one. Tragedy took the lives of those who would stand in their way and Megan was happy that it did...at first. It was those same people, may they rest in peace that taught her the deadly game that provided her the keys to open Pandora's Box at an early age, which sent her into William's arms. It was his constant cheating and physical abuse that would send her into the arms of many others. Now that she's unhappily married, she searches for love through cougar's eyes and thinks she may have found it in Devin, a man young enough to be her own child by the rules or lack thereof, of the south, but her husband's sneaky moves are standing in the way. It takes her limousine driver, Angelo, to open her eyes to the immediate danger that she is in. He accidentally stumbles across a past that neither of them knew about or are ready to acknowledge. With a history that is filled with lies, murder, and constant disrespect all parties seem to be tied in together in ways they never imagined possible. With Meagan's world crumbling to pieces, their lives form a murderous love letter that is signed, Disrespectfully Yours" -- page 4 of cover
