Jack Dempsey loses a boxing match and his championship. Reporters rush to his dressing room and ask his manager, Cap, for an interview. Jack does not want to speak with them and wonders if his career is over. He says he is backing a vaudeville show starring the daughter of Pop Campbell, who was Jack's trainer and who taught Jack everything he knows about boxing. Her boyfriend, Irving Gordon, who is putting on the show, is forced to close down rehearsals because of a lawsuit against him for plagiarizing someone else's material. Jack calls a fight promoter, who arranges a bout for him with a purse sufficient to keep the show going. Jack is being pummelled and Pop's daughter pleads with him to quit, but in the next round, he knocks out his opponent and regains his championship and also wins the love of Pop's daughter.

Sir Edgar Bergen, an explorer, and his companion, Charlie McCarthy, make a forced landing in the jungle because Charlie let the gas out of the tank of their plane. They have no food when they are visited by some cannibals, who start a fire and bring some cooking utensils, giving Edgar and Charlie the impression that they are to be cooked and eaten. They are given a drink, which they find to be gasoline, taken from a pump left by a previous visitor to the jungle. They fill their plane and are ready to take off, when they discover that the cannibals have no intention of eating them and that the meal about to be prepared is for them.
