6 editions published in 2007 in English and held by 102 libraries worldwide
Reducing our own GHG emissions means that Canada is facing a transition to a low emissions society -- a transition that will be driven by environmental, economic and social factors. We have a substantial national interest in understanding and anticipating the nature and scope of that change and in proactively seeking to manage our response, with respect to both mitigation and adaptation measures, in a way that benefits Canada. This Advisory Report addresses the issue of how to mitigate potential effects of climate change, through deep emission reductions
Parallel paths : Canada-U.S. climate policy choices by National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (Canada)( Book )
6 editions published in 2011 in English and held by 91 libraries worldwide
A central question in Canadian climate policy remains, "What of the United States?" Uncertainty about American climate policy colours and shapes Canada's own policy choices and direction. By necessity, our integrated economies require serious consideration of harmonizing Canadian climate policy with that of the United States. But different energy economies and greenhouse gas emission profiles in the two countries create different economic and environmental implications for Canada as we pursue a harmonized policy approach

Greenhouse gas emissions forecasting : learning from international best practices ( Book )
7 editions published in 2008 in French and English and held by 28 libraries worldwide
The National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE) is dedicated to exploring new opportunities to integrate environmental conservation and economic development, in order to sustain Canada's prosperity and secure its future. This report responds to key concerns highlighted by the (NRTEE) in its 2007 Response to its obligations under the Kyoto Protocol Implementation Act (2007 KPIA Response). Chief among those concerns were differing and inconsistent forecasting methods used among various federal departments to describe the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions accruing from a particular policy measure or initiative, leading to issues of additionality, free ridership, rebound effect, and policy interaction effects. The core of this report defines emissions forecasting best practices from methodological and governance perspectives. It concludes with a discussion on findings from case studies, along with detailed lessons for Canada, and specific conclusions on incorporating best practices in GHG emissions forecasting.--Document
