Lemmatisierte Konkordanz zu Wirnts von Grafenberg "Wigalois" by Yoshihiro Yokoyama( Book )
1 edition published in 2006 in German and held by 10 libraries worldwide
Wirnt von Grafenberg's 'Wigalois' is one of the most successful Arthurian romances from the 'classical' period of medieval German literature. So far, however, research on the work has failed to provide a complete lexicographic investigation of the work. This lemmatized concordance fills the gap. For the first time it provides a full list of lemmatized references to the words used in the work (ed. Kapteyn) in the form of flexibly delimited reference citations. The PDF files of the concordance and the printed version of the text are to be found on the CD-ROM included. They greatly facilitate identification and verification of all lexical references

Imagining the text : ekphrasis and envisioning courtly identity in Wirnt von Gravenberg's Wigalois by James H Brown( Book )
1 edition published in 2015 in English and held by 5 libraries worldwide
James Brown examines ekphrasis – the verbal representation of a visual representation – in Wirnt von Gravenberg’s thirteenth-century Arthurian romance Wigalois, one of the most popular and enduring stories in the Middle High German literary tradition. Through close reading of the text and examining illustrated Wigalois manuscripts, early print editions, and frescoes, Brown explores how ekphrasis structures the narrative, harmonizes potential conflicts in the text, and contributes to the construction of courtly identity. Imagining the Text demonstrates that the vibrant symbiosis of word and image is crucial to the poem’s sustained popularity for more than six hundred years, and contributes to the history of the book and to the study of medieval and modern modes of perception
