Nonequilibrium quantum field theory by Esteban A Calzetta( Book )
17 editions published in 2008 in English and held by 231 libraries worldwide
"Bringing together the key ideas from nonequilibrium statistical mechanics and powerful methodology from quantum field theory, this book captures the essence of nonequilibrium quantum field theory." "Beginning with the foundational aspects of the theory, the book presents important concepts and useful techniques, discusses issues of basic interest such as decoherence and entropy generation, and shows how thermal field, linear response, kinetic theories, and hydrodynamics emerge. It also illustrates how these concepts and methodology are applied to current research topics such as nonequilibrium phase transitions, thermalization in relativistic heavy ion collisions, the nonequilibrium dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensation, and the generation of structures from quantum fluctuations in the early Universe."--Jacket
Directions in general relativity : proceedings of the 1993 International Symposium, Maryland by International Symposium on General Relativity( Book )
6 editions published in 1993 in English and held by 107 libraries worldwide
Directions in general relativity : proceedings of the 1993 international symposium, Maryland : papers in honor of Charles Misner by B. L Hu( Book )
30 editions published between 1956 and 2005 in English and Undetermined and held by 88 libraries worldwide
These two volumes are the proceedings of a major International Symposium on General Relativity held at the University of Maryland in March 1993 to celebrate the sixtieth birthdays of Professor Charles Misner and Professor Dieter Brill. The volumes cover classical general relativity, quantum gravity and quantum cosmology, canonical formulation and the initial value problem, topology and geometry of spacetime and fields, mathematical and physical cosmology, and black hole physics and astrophysics. As invited articles, the papers in these volumes have an aim which goes beyond that of a standard conference proceedings. Not only do the authors discuss the most recent research results in their fields, but many also provide historical perspectives on how the subjects have developed and offer individual insights in their search for new directions

Origin of the universe and quantum gravity : a grass-root approach by B. L Hu( visu )
1 edition published in 2006 in English and held by 1 library worldwide
Prof Bei-Lok Hu tells us the relation of quantum gravity, the most pressing unsolved issue of theoretical physics, and the origin of the universe, the ultimate mystery of Nature, and presents one unconventional yet most sensible approach to this theory, from the 'bottom-up', without making any assumption on an ultimate 'theory of everything'. This approach relies more on well-proven theories depicting today's low energy phenomena and large scale structure of spacetime, matched by cosmological observations and experimental data. It begins with General Relativity and Quantum Field Theory, and goes beyond to semiclassical and stochastic gravity, aided by ideas and techniques from nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, fluctuation phenomena, quantum noise and stochastic processes
