Letters, 1856-1859, addressed to Mrs. Wignall of Cardigan St., North Melbourne, from the Bendigo and Ballarat goldfields (Clunes and Long Gully). The letters mainly concern his daughter Emily, who was cared for by Mrs. Wignall. Also testimonials, 1850-1851, from various bodies in London and passengers on the ship "City of Manchester" on which Sasse was the cook in September, 1851 on voyage from England to Port Phillip. Also papers of Louis and Emily Jane Lehrke (Sasse), 1891-1919. These are mainly legal documents, but include a souvenir ticket to a Pioneer Breakfast and Picnic on the Yarra, 19 November, 1934.
