While on his way to the Mexican War, John Brown, the son of Gen. Joseph W. Brown, writes his parents from aboard the steamship Fashion. He describes joining Lt. Col. Moore's battalion of 3d dragoons at Vera Cruz and his company's march from Vera Cruz to Mexico City mentioning that the 3d dragoons will join Gen. Scott's forces at Puebla.
