They explore Tiannamen Square and the Forbidden City; they make and fly their own kites and finally, they dress up like Chinese opera singers and perform at the hundred year old Huguang Guild Hall theatre. NEW YEARS: Julia and Joanna journey to Beijing to celebrate New Years! During the festivities, the girls play carnival games, watch lion dancers, make lanterns and even ice bicycle on a frozen pond! They finish the night by watching an amazing fireworks display

After a carriage ride to a doll shop they paint their own Matryoshka nesting dolls and then a troupe of Cossack dancers teach the boys how to high step. BALLET: Tristan and TJ take a plane to St. Petersburg where they skate on a giant ice rink and meet a friend at the famous Mariinsky Theatre. At the theatre, they join the troupe for a dance lesson and then watch a live performance of the Nutcracker!
