The photo. collection documents the expedition and shows mostly birds and plant life, besides landscapes, local inhabitants, wildlife, expedition life and travels. Collection 183 was composed from USDE worksheets 208 (PC-File # 22), 304 (PC-Album: Tahiti, Tuamotu, Marquesas, Calif., Crocker Pacific, 1935), 305 (PC-Albums: Chapin-Edson Expedition, 1930-1931), 1508 (Inv. # 86), 1563 (PC-File # 23) and 1585 (PC-File # 24).
