Ledger kept by members of the Despard and Ford families of Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts (1702-1809). Commenced by John Despard and carried on by his son Lambert, then by Joseph, Joseph (Jr.), John (in 1750), and Wait Ford. Many of the earlier accounts are for sales of rails and shingles, and for sawing plank and timber. Throughout the volume are accounts for such transactions as sales and purchases of farm produce, charges for carting, farm labor, and various other purchases. Included are accounts with Daniel Bonney, William Ford, other members of the Ford family, William Bishop, Samuel Gould, Thomas Standish, Jacob Michell, Ebenezer Bishop, Nehemiah Cushing, Joseph Stetson, Thomas Standish, Jr., Joshua Keen, Josiah Keen, John Adams (clothier), and Joshua Turner

The diaries were evidently kept as a lof oactivities, prices, and events tha tthe writer wanted to be able to recall; they are brief and lacking in personal detail.
