Avtorica se v članku osredotoča na razlago Heglovega stavka "kar je umno, je dejansko; kar je dejansko je umno" iz "Predgovora" Očrtov filozofije prava. Pri razlagi izhaja iz tega, da se Heglove sintagme o "umni dejanskosti" ne da razumeti drugače kot prav v kontekstu, v katerem je izrečena, tj. na podlagi tistega, kar v "Predgovoru" Hegel pove o filozofiji. Tako predstavlja racionalno jedro Heglove "zaskrbljenosti" za filozofijo poskus določitve minimalnih pogojev, s pomočjo katerih neko mišljenje pripoznamo za filozofijo. Prvi tak pogoj zadeva postopek filozofske obravnave, drugi vprašanje aktualnosti filozofije. Šele na podlagi takšnega Heglovega razumevanja filozofije lahko, po avtoričinem mnenju, pravilno razložimo sam stavek o "umni dejanskosti", tj. oba njegova pola - "umno" in "dejansko"

Skozi podrobno branje triade "Abstraktno pravo"-"Moralnost"-"Nravnost" iz Heglovih Osnovnih črt filozofije prava skuša avtorica pokazati, na kakšen način Hegel razume udejanjenje posameznikove svobode. Svoboda je za Hegla vselej svoboda posameznika, vendar pa mora ta posameznik za to, da bi udejanil svojo lastno svobodo, narediti nek "izstopni korak". Kar posameznik je, je niz njegovih dejanj. Prav tako, v nasprotju s prevladujočim mnenjem, pokaže, da kritika pogodbenega in moralnega stališča, ki ju Hegel razvije v prvih dveh delih OČPF, že vsebuje njegovo afirmativno stališče, ki je v tem, da Hegel, kot Kantov dedič, v svoji teoriji nravnosti sicer izhaja iz subjektakot merila vsega, pri čemer je ključni dodatek v tem, da se zanj vsakega posameznikovega delovanja drži neka občost, neka simolna dimenzija, ki prinaša hkrati tudi tisto vsebino, ki manjka Kantovemu praznemu formalizmu
