Subject: Masury's salute to the 1866 theater season included references to many of the works performed at the Boston Theater, the Boston Museum, the Continental Theater, the Howard Athenaeum, the Boston Music Hall, and the Boylston Museum. The Romeo and Juliet in the lower righthand corner were Frank Dwight Denny and Alice Placide. In the lower center with his sword raised is William Warren who frequently performed at the Boston Museum while behind him Masury showed Edwin Booth with his arms raised

Photographs of the related Ward, Perry, and Dexter families, taken ca. 1858-1955. The majority of the photographs are portraits of various family members and friends, most of which are unidentified and were taken ca. 1858-1882. Among those identified are Amanda Atherton Ward; Catherine Dexter Ward Perry and her husband William Cabot Gorham Perry; their daughter-in-law Elinor Woodbury Seymour Perry; and various other members of the related Atherton family, among others. There are also a number of portraits of Civil War soldiers, as well as graphics of Artemus Ward (1762-1847), Samuel Dexter (1726-1810), and Catherine Maria Dexter Ward. The collection also contains three views of the interior and exteriors of unidentified Massachusetts houses.
