When is ambiguity-attitude constant? by Jürgen Eichberger( Book )
5 editions published in 2012 in English and held by 11 libraries worldwide
This paper studies how updating affects ambiguity-attitude. In particular we focus on the generalized Bayesian update of the Jaffray-Phillipe sub-class of Choquet Expected Utility preferences. We find conditions for ambiguity-attitude to be the same before and after updating. A necessary and sufficient condition for ambiguity-attitude to be unchanged when updated on an arbitrary event is for the capacity to be neo-additive. We find a condition for updating on a given partition to preserve ambiguity-attitude. We relate this to necessary and sufficient conditions for dynamic consistency. Finally we study whether ambiguity increases or decreases after updating. -- ambiguity ; generalized Bayesian update ; learning ; dynamic consistency ; Choquet Expected Utility

Granny versus game theorst : ambiguity in experimental games ( Computer File )
1 edition published in 2006 in English and held by 1 library worldwide
We report on an experiment in which subjects choose actions in strategic games with either strategic complements or substitutes against a granny, a game theorist or other subjects. The games are selected in order to test predictions on the comparative statics of equilibrium with respect to changes in strategic ambiguity. We find that subjects face higher ambiguity while playing against the granny than playing against the game theorist if we assume that subjects are ambiguity averse. Moreover, under the same assumption, subjects choose more secure actions in games more prone to ambiguity which is in line with the predictions
