Premier tome d'une série de science-fiction située dans un univers dystopique, une société "parfaite" vivant dans un bonheur artificiel, où toute déviance est classée et étiquetée. Un classement qui donne froid dans le dos. L'intrigue est facile à suivre, le rythme est assez lent au début, le temps d'installer l'univers de la Cité et de présenter les personnages, puis, tout s'emballe et l'action et les rebondissements prennent le dessus. Du côté des personnages, l'héroïne parait au départ un peu fade par rapport aux autres protagonistes masculins. En particulier, entre Raffy qui semble presque fou et Lucas représenté en parfaite machine sans sentiments. Heureusement, les évènements finissent par donner un peu plus de poids à Evie et l'on finit par s'y attacher, touchés par son passé et sa manière de réagir. Au final, et même s'il ne révolutionne pas le genre, ce premier volet permet de passer un bon moment de lecture. [SDM]
