The production of fast deuterons in high energy nuclear reactions by
Geoffrey F Chew(
)
2 editions published in 1949 in English and held by 14 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
It is proposed that the fast deuterons observed among the products of high energy nuclear reactions are to be understood in terms of a "pickup" or sudden rearrangement process. A theoretical treatment of such a process is given which suffices to interpret presently existing data. Further experiments are proposed to test the hypothesis critically, and a possible application of this type of experiment to the determination of nuclear wave functions is pointed out

Quantum dynamics via Planckscalestepped actioncarrying 'Graph Paths'(
)
1 edition published in 2003 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
A divergencefree, parameterfree, pathbased discretetime quantum dynamics is designed to not only enlarge the achievements of general relativity and the standard particle model, by approximations at spacetime scales far above Planck scale while far below Hubble scale, but to allow tackling of hitherto inaccessible questions. ''Path space'' is larger than and precursor to Hilbertspace basis. The wavefunctionpropagating paths are actioncarrying structured graphscubic and quartic structured vertices connected by structured ''fermionic'' or ''bosonic'' ''particle'' and ''nonparticle'' arcs. A Planckscale path step determines the gravitational constant while controlling all graph structure. The basis of the theory's (zerorestmass) elementaryparticle Hilbert space (which includes neither gravitons nor scalar bosons) resides in particle arcs. Nonparticle arcs within a path are responsible for energy and rest mass
