The river has been called a scroll of history and many of Britain's cultural, educational and historical landmarks are situated along its banks. This film takes the viewer on a tour of the river and depicts some of the sights along the way, from ancient traditions such as swan-upping and the annual regatta at Henley-on-Thames, to places like the grounds of Windsor Castle, Oxford University, the Royal Navy College and Winston Churchill's war-time command centre.
