During his funeral, millions of people crowded the streets of Athens screaming "Zi, zi, zi!"-"Live, live, live!" This is the opening scene of A Man-and the final scene in the life of Alekos
Letter to a child never born by Oriana Fallaci( Book )

270 editions published between 1975 and 2017 in 15 languages and held by 1,686 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Published by Rizzoli in 1975, Letter to a Child Never Born was quickly translated and sold in twenty-seven countries, becoming an extraordinary world success. It is the tragic monologue of a woman speaking with the child she carries in her womb. This letter confronts the burning theme of abortion, and the meaning of life, by asking difficult questions: Is it fair to impose life even if it means suffering? Would it be better not to be born at all? Letter to a Child Never Born touches on the real meaning of being a woman: the power to give life or not. When the book begins, the protagonist is upset after learning she is pregnant. She knows nothing about the child, except that this creature depends totally and uniquely on her own choices. The creation of another person directly within one & rsquo;s own body is a very shocking thing. The sense of responsibility is huge; it is a heavy burden that gives life to endless reflections, from the origin of our existence to the shame of our selfishness. If the child could choose, would he prefer to be born, to grow up, and to suffer, or would he return to the joyful limbo from which he came? A woman & rsquo;s freedom and individuality are also challenged by a newborn & mdash;should she renounce her freedom, her job, and her choice? What should she do at this point?

The force of reason = (La forza della ragione) by Oriana Fallaci( Book )

10 editions published between 2004 and 2013 in English and held by 620 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This book began as a postscript entitled Due anni dopo (Two years later), intended as a brief appendix to the 30th printing of The rage and the pride (2002). But Fallaci chose to expand it into a book, a continuation of her ideas set in motion in her post-9/11 book. Here, she takes aim at the many attacks and death threats she received after the publication of The rage and the pride. Fallaci begins by identifying with one Master Cecco, the author of a heretical book who was burned at the stake during the Inquisition seven centuries ago, and proceeds with an analysis of the burning of Troy and the creation of a Europe that, to her judgment, is no longer her familiar homeland but rather a place best called Eurabia, a soon-to-be colony of Islam. Fallaci explores her ideas in historical, philosophical, moral, and political terms, addressing taboo topics with sharp logic--Cf. publisher's description

27 editions published between 2008 and 2016 in Italian and held by 212 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

E tutti quei nonni, nonne, bisnonni, bisnonne, trisnonni, trisnonne, arcavoli e arcavole, insomma tutti quei miei genitori, diventarono miei figli

Gli antipatici by Oriana Fallaci( Book )

41 editions published between 1904 and 2015 in 6 languages and held by 99 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

12 editions published between 2009 and 2016 in Italian and Polish and held by 93 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Pasolini, un uomo scomodo by Oriana Fallaci( Book )

8 editions published between 2015 and 2018 in Italian and Polish and held by 72 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Ja, normalna kobieta i ty, anormalny mężczyzna, przynajmniej według zakłamanych kryteriów tak zwanej przyzwoitości, ja, zakochana w życiu i ty, zakochany w śmierci, ja, taka twarda, i ty, taki łagodny" - Oriana Fallaci. Związek Oriany i Piera Paola to jedna z najbardziej fascynujących i intensywnych historii miłości -nienawiści we włoskiej literaturze i obyczaju dwudziestego wieku. Ta książka to zbiór tekstów Oriany poświęconych Pasoliniemu, oddająca sprawiedliwość roli, jaką dziennikarka odegrała w wyjaśnieniu tego tajemniczego i kontrowersyjnego zdarzenia." -- Quote from the front cover, quote from the back cover, back cover summary
