Edwin Gordon (Edwin August), an artist, loves his model, Alice Eggleston (Florence Barker). But because he is poor, he loves her in silence. Unaware of the passion of her employer she marries another man. Later, a child is born to them. By this time, Edwin prospers and becomes prominent. In the meantime, Alice has been deserted by her husband. Being destitute, she seeks refuge in the church and there she finds her portrait painted on the window. She intuitively knows that there is only one man in the world who could paint the picture and she finds him there. They marry and find happiness at last
