Le visage de Dieu by Igor Bogdanoff( Book )

1 edition published in 2010 in French and held by 27 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Timothy Ferris interviews conducted for book, THE RED LIMIT by Timothy Ferris( )

in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Consists of interviews with twenty-one physicists and astronomers concerning their work. Topics include astrophysics, cosmology, relativity, and in particular the origin, nature and fate of the universe. These interviews were conducted by Ferris for his book, THE RED LIMIT: THE SEARCH FOR THE EDGE OF THE UNIVERSE (1977). They are not transcribed. The longest interviews are with Jesse Leonard Greenstein, Arno A. Penzias, Maarten Schmidt, and Robert W. Wilson. Other interview subjects are: Halton C. Arp, Geoffrey Burbidge, M. Carr, J. Goodette, R. Hargrave, Hal Klein, Gentry Lee, F. Low, J. Martin, T. Mutch, T. Owen, Leighton, David DeVorkin, Allan Sandage, G. Soffen, John Wheeler, and T. Young

Observations of the galactic plane at 960 mc/sec by Robert Woodrow Wilson( Book )

1 edition published in 1962 in Undetermined and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

A survey of the radio radiation at 960 Mc/s from the part of the plane of the Galaxy with declination above 48 [degrees] has been made. 112 discrete sources were found in the region studied. The positions, intensities, and sizes of these sources have been catalogued, and a search for optical identifications made. The broadly distributed radiation is interpreted in terms of a space distribution of ionized hydrogen and of emissivity from synchrotron emission
The George Gamow Symposium by George Gamow Symposium( )

1 edition published in 1996 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Symposium in honor of George Gamow and his work in astronomy, cosmology, nuclear physics, and the genetic code, which was held in celebration of the 175th anniversary of George Washington University in 1996. Speakers include: Ralph Alpher, Hans Bethe, Robert Herman, Alex Rich, Vera Cooper Rubin, Roger Stuewer, Robert Wilson. The last tape includes tributes and reminiscences about Gamow by the participants who knew and worked with him

Joint symposium of the Division of Astrophysics and the Forum for History of Physics by American Physical Society( Recording )

1 edition published in 1987 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Talks given at two of the sessions of the joint symposium of the American Physical Society Division of Astrophysics and Forum for History of Physics. Speakers at the first session entitled "Stellar Structure and the Origin of Steller Energy" were: Hans Bethe, Karl Hafbauer, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, Edwin Salpeter, Raymond Davis, Lawrence Badash. Speakers at the second session entitled "Stellar Composition, Birth of the Universe, Origin of the Elements" were: David DeVorkin, Robert Smith, Ralph Alpher, Robert Herman, William Fowler, and Robert Wilson
[Bell Telephone Laboratories researchers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson talk about their May 20, 1964 discovery of the faint afterglow of the Big Bang] by Arno A Penzias( Recording )

1 edition published in 2014 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Bell Telephone Laboratories researchers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson talk about their May 20, 1964 discovery of the faint afterglow of the Big Bang confirming a theory about the creation of the universe. They describe the process of elimination they went through to account for the static they heard on their microwave antenna before concluding it was residual energy from the Big Bang. On "All Things Considered."
Catalogue of radio sources in the galactic plane by Robert Woodrow Wilson( Book )

1 edition published in 1963 in English and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Trois by Mike Snow (Musical group)( Visual )

1 edition published in 1979 in English and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Tells how two Bell Labs scientists discovered radio signals from space that were left over from the explosive origins of the universe, thus supporting the "big bang" theory of the creation of the universe. Nobel physicists Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson reenact their research, trace the history of radio astronomy from its Bell Labs origins, and comment on the close relationship between radio astronomy and communications
