The OCLC Research WorldCat Identities project is ending. The work provided valuable insight into how to mine bibliographic data for insight into the People and Organizations that create and serve as subjects library materials. The findings demonstrated the power of data mining over the world’s largest set of bibliographic metadata and highlighted the value of collaborative collective cataloging. The WorldCat Identities data has positively impacted OCLC’s work to build the WorldCat Entities application and the 150 million Person and Work descriptions accessible through it. This work will continue to build our entity ecosystem to support the future knowledge work of librarians.

The WorldCat Identities web application will be retired and shut down in the coming months and the data is no longer being updated. The most recent version of the data is from July of 2022. As OCLC continues to build out the WorldCat Entities ecosystem, please use it as a source for persistent Person identifiers. https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity

The finite element method : an introduction with partial differential equations by Alan J Davies( )

15 editions published in 2011 in English and held by 1,267 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

An introduction to the application of the finite element method to the solution of boundary and initial-value problems posed in terms of partial differential equations. Contains worked examples throughout and each chapter has a set of exercises with detailed solutions
A handbook of essential mathematical formulae by Alan J Davies( )

2 editions published between 2004 and 2008 in English and held by 487 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This handbook is intended for students of mathematics as well as of subjects with a significant mathematics content such as engineering, physical sciences, economics, business studies and computer science. It contains vital information and formulae for algebra, geometry, calculus, numerical methods and statistics
The finite element method : a first approach by Alan J Davies( Book )

25 editions published between 1980 and 1986 in English and Japanese and held by 400 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

An introduction to computational geometry for curves and surfaces by Alan J Davies( Book )

14 editions published in 1996 in English and held by 294 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Waves by Alan J Davies( Book )

7 editions published in 1993 in English and held by 78 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The text provides an elementary introduction to the mathematical description of wave motion. The only mathematics assumed is that which would be found in an 'A' level calculus course. The book begins with a simple case of the vibration of a single particle and then considers two particle systems and normal modes. Vibration on strings and springs are then covered, and the book finishes with a description of general wave properties such as the Doppler effect and interference

Where do the wriggles come from? by Alan J Davies( Book )

3 editions published in 1989 in English and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Parallelism in the boundary element method : fine grain and coarse grain by Alan J Davies( Book )

1 edition published in 1991 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "It has been well-established by the present author that the boundary element method is well-suited to implementation in a parallel computing environment. It is surprising that only a small number of such implementations have been published. In this report we describe some of these implementations on both fine-grained and coarse-grained architectures."
Campaign for action, Chapel Field Road Methodist Church, Norwich, 1969-1971 : an experience in evangelism following a new three-phase method( Book )

1 edition published in 1972 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The implementation of the boundary element method on a network of transputers by Alan J Davies( Book )

1 edition published in 1991 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "In this report we describe the transputer implementation of the Boundary Element Method for a two-dimensional potential problem. The mapping from algorithm to architecture involves associating each Gauss integration point with a processor in the network."
The boundary element method for magnetostatic problems using a distributed array processor by Alan J Davies( Book )

1 edition published in 1990 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Numerical and analytic evaluation of some singular integrals occurring in the boundary element method by Alan J Davies( Book )

1 edition published in 1991 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "In this report we present numerical values for the analytic and approximate values of the singular integrals occurring in the boundary element solution of potential problems. The elements considered are the linear and the sub-parametric quadratic element. We show that if a standard Gauss quadrature rule is used then, as expected, the singular integrals exhibit errors whereas if a logarithmic quadrature rule is used the singular integrals are evaluated exactly."
Boundary elements on the ICL DAP by Alan J Davies( Book )

1 edition published in 1987 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The distributed array processor, a suitable environment for integral methods by Alan J Davies( Book )

1 edition published in 1989 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Parallel boundary element implementations : a survey by Alan J Davies( Book )
