The Greek documents are the most diverse, and include most of the literary fragments found at Tebtunis, including Homer, Demosthenes, and Dictys Cretensis. A substantial portion of the papyri concern the priests of Soknebtunis (the Egyptian crocodile god Sobek). Other documents include contracts, petitions, declarations, and tax receipts. There are several Latin literary texts including the earliest known instance of lines from the 4th book of Virgil's Georgics. The majority of this material, including some Demotic texts, dates between ca. 1 and ca. 350 A.D., when Egypt was under Roman rule
