Le jeune homme, Orfeo, vêtu de jeans et d'un veston de cuir, tente avec sa guitare de pacifier les Furies qui incarnent le pouvoir de la mort. L'Amour a promis à Orfeo le retour d'Eurydice s'il réussit à ne pas la regarder quand ils reviendront sur la terre. Orfeo rêve, souffre, est "malade", se dédouble en artiste. Il rencontre Eurydice et son amour est si grand qu'il ne peut détourner d'elle son regard et la perd de nouveau à tout jamais. L'Amour ressuscite Orfeo, l'artiste, et le conduit à Eurydice devenue une figure de l'art. Ensemble, ils chantent l'amour et leur désir d'un monde qui le servirait dans la beauté. C'est une mise en scène surréaliste et saisissante de l'oeuvre
