Going my way by Leo McCarey( Visual )

Father O'Malley is the new priest at the Church of St. Dominic in a working-class New York City neighborhood. He fails to make a good first impression with crusty old Father Fitzgibbon, who doesn't approve of O'Malley's golf playing, baseball game attending, or fishing. But O'Malley starts spiffing up the church and its neighborhood: dealing with the church mortgage, which is in arrears, and straightening out the street gangs by getting the boys to help him start a choir. Romantic matches are made; neighborhood busybodies are appeased. Many songs are joyfully sung, and O'Malley even arranges a big surprise for Fitzgibbon, who's homesick for Ireland

For a generation of opera lovers, Rise Stevens was the Carmen. Her husky, insinuating voice was the embodiment of Bizet's gypsy temptress. Based on the eternal Orpheus myth, this opera is about a love so strong that it reaches beyond the grave. Orfeo dares the furies of hell itself and brings his beloved Euridice back to life, only to almost lose her once again when human nature interrupts. The great American mezzo-soprano Risë Stevens was acclaimed for her portrayal of the pants role of Orfeo, the grieving man whose singing is so eloquent he is allowed to reclaim his beloved Euridice (Lucine Amara) from death itself

8 editions published between 1951 and 2009 in 4 languages and held by 285 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Eugene Ormandy conducts a distinguished cast in this English-language version of Johann Strauss's effervescent operetta. Risë Stevens is sensational as the extravagant Prince Orlofsky, whose costume ball is at the center of the action. Richard Tucker sings Alfred, the luckless opera singer who is wooing his old flame Rosalinde (Marguerite Piazza) and is mistakenly hauled off to prison in place of her husband, Eisenstein (Charles Kullman). Patrice Munsel is Rosalinde's maid, Adele, John Brownlee sings Dr. Falke, and Jack Gilford gives a hilarious performance as the jailer Frosch

The sensational Risë Stevens leads the cast in this spectacular performance of Strauss's masterwork in one of her most memorable roles, the young Count Octavian. The passionate aristocrat finds himself caught between two women--the gracious, worldly-wise Marschallin, sung by Irene Jessner, and the beautiful young Sophie, played by Eleanor Steber, at the beginning of her exceptional career. Emanuel List is Baron Ochs, a role he owned for many years. This extraordinary cast is conducted by the legendary Fritz Busch, who perfectly balances the score's intimacy and grandeur
