in English and held by 92 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This collection about the San consists of 80 English language documents, three of which are translations from the German (Kaufman, Lebzelter, and Werner). The time span ranges from prehistory, to the early San-European contact period (ca. 1650s-1850s), to the late twentieth century. Most of the documents deal with various!Kung San groups in Namibia, and Botswana (e.g., in the Dobe, Nyae Nyae, G/wi, and Heikum areas). There is also some data on the San of southern Angola and the Republic of South Africa. Major topics of note include kinship, infant behavior and child development, San-European contacts and cultural change, trade, and San knowledge about nature and man

Implementing reflection in GHC by Jirō Tanaka( Book )

3 editions published between 1990 and 1991 in English and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "Implementation of reflection in GHC is presented in this paper. Though GHC is an [sic] parallel dialect of Prolog, we can regard it as a parallel object-oriented language since it has the notion of object and communication between objects. After reviewing the language features of GHC as a parallel object-oriented language, we consider the realization of GHC meta-computation system first. Based on the meta-level representation of GHC, an enhanced GHC meta-program is proposed. Then we propose Reflective GHC, where reflective tower can be constructed and collapsed in a dynamic manner using reflective predicates. Reflective GHC has actually been implemented. All codes shown in this paper are running on our Reflective GHC system."

A proposal for reflective GHC by Jirō Tanaka( Book )

2 editions published in 1990 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "After defining meta and reflection as basic terminology, we define meta-computation system in logic programming languages. Especially, we consider the correspondence between the representation at the meta-level and the object at the object-level. Based on these considerations, we propose a reflective system in parallel logic language GHC. This system has the following two features comparing to the previous approaches: First, this system is formulated without using quote. Secondly, it has the reflective mechanism in which reflective tower can be constructed and collapsed in a dynamic manner."

An overview of ExReps system by Jirō Tanaka( Book )

2 editions published in 1989 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "An overview of an experimental reflective programming system (ExReps) is presented in this paper. ExReps consists of two layers, i.e., abstract machine layer and execution system layer. Both layers are constructed based on enhanced metacall mechanism. Actual program execution examples and reflective programming examples are also presented."

2 editions published in 1988 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

An experimental reflective programming system written in GHC by Jirō Tanaka( Book )

2 editions published in 1989 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "A programming system can be defined as an environment where one can input programs and execute goals. After describing two approaches, i.e., meta-extension and reflective-extension, for enhancing meta-interpreters, they are combined together and reflective operations on such meta-interpreters are discussed. Based on these meta-interpretation techniques, an experimental reflective programming system (ExReps) is described. The whole system consists of two layers, i.e., abstract machine layer and execution system layer, and both layers are totally written in parallel logic language GHC. Two examples of reflective programming, i.e., load balancing and dynamic reduction count control, are shown. An actual program execution example on ExReps is also shown."
