Die Schöpfung = The creation by Joseph Haydn( )

28 editions published between 1956 and 2016 in 3 languages and held by 565 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This marvellous recording, sung in German, comes as a surprise, since Bernard Haitink is not obviously associated with Haydn. In fact he didn't tackle The Creation until 2011, when he was 82. He approaches this great choral masterpiece with wit, unhurried grandeur, riveting orchestral detail and forward momentum - in short, with just the acuity he brings to anything he conducts. (....) Gabriel (soprano Camilla Tilling), Uriel (tenor Mark Padmore), and Raphael (bass Hanno Müller-Brachmann). Choir, orchestra and soloists are on sparkling form in this live recording - an invigorating reminder, if any were needed, of Haydn's genius" (The Guardian)
Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi( )

27 editions published between 1954 and 2009 in 3 languages and held by 540 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The vocalists for this touching work are Rosa Feola, Gerhild Romberger, Dmitry Korchak and Mika Kares. Premiered in Paris in 1842, Stabat Mater became a sensational success, surprising listeners in particular with its tremendous musical diversity - from operatic and a cappella elements to bel canto style and contrapuntal writing
Die 3 Messen = The masses = Les messes by Anton Bruckner( Recording )

17 editions published between 1963 and 1995 in 5 languages and held by 505 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart( )

The charming Elisabeth Söderström as the saucy servant Susanna and the ravishing, aristocratic Lisa Della Casa as the Countess are at the center of Mozart's immortal masterpiece, based on the Beaumarchais play. Add Cesare Siepi's irrepressible Figaro and Mildred Miller's effervescent Cherubino, and you have one utterly enchanting comedy. Erich Leinsdorf conducts the incandescent score
Missa solemnis by Ludwig van Beethoven( Recording )

4 editions published between 1961 and 2002 in Latin and held by 287 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The performances of the Missa solemnis at the Styriarte Festival in Graz and at the Salzburg Festival in summer 2015 were Nikolaus Harnoncourt's last concerts. After his retirement from the stage later that year, it was Mr. Harnoncourt's express wish that this album, made from the material captured at the Graz concerts and rehearsals, also be his last released recordings. Beethoven's late masterpiece has thus become the final chapter of an unparalleled discography spanning 65 years

ATMA Classique is reissuing one of Les Violons du Roy's seminal discs: the orchestra's recording of Mozart's Requiem as revised and completed by Robert D. Levin. The soloists are Karina Gauvin, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, John Tessier, and Nathan Berg. Bernard Labadie conducts Les Violons du Roy and the choir of La Chapelle de Québec. This recording was originally released on the Dorian label in 2002, and won the JUNO Award for Best Classical Album of the year in the vocal or choral performance category. This recording of Mozart's Requiem is especially poignant, as it was made in Troy, NewYork in the week following the September 11 attacks in 2001.The recording captures the emotion and immediacy of that special performance, which was later featured on CBC Television's Opening Night. The Globe & Mail wrote about "an appreciation of the transcendent aspects of the Requiem as a work of art that is about death, survival and the possibility of an afterlife. There is the magnificence of the music, so often used to solemnly mark terrible tragedy and bring solace."
